Managed services approach to enable team efficiency
Proact worked as an integral partner to the University of Gloucestershire to support the overhaul of its entire infrastructure estate and service delivery model for IT operations. The university, which has just under 8,000 students, was committed to an IT strategy which took administrators’ focuses away from day-to-day tasks, embracing a managed services approach. This shift involved examining how IT could be better integrated to support wider learning and teaching objectives.
Challenge
The University of Gloucestershire was facing a number of hurdles due to its ageing infrastructure. The university wanted to introduce a disaster recovery environment, improve its backup solution and required specialist knowledge as key skills had left the organisation.
Solution
Proact overhauled the university’s entire infrastructure estate by deploying new storage, servers and a backup environment. Proact’s Service Management was also selected to provide monitoring, support and incident resolution on a 24/7 basis.
“The transition to Proact’s solution went incredibly smoothly and our expectations of the managed service support have been significantly exceeded.”
